best oil filter?
I buy all of my filters from Geno's Garage fuel and oil along with the CCV filter. Geno's garage has a boonie box for different year trucks with all of the items need to get you going in and emergency. They all so sell a Maintenance kit that includes all of the required filters for each model year.
Just check them out on line, here is the link. http://www.genosgarage.com/default.asp

I use Baldwin, or Donaldson or Fleetguard.
All are rated very good and...if you really dig, you may find that some are relabeled and made in the same factory.
The unfortunate discovery I have made is some of these filters are made in China now. The bulk shipments to the suppliers show that.

Fleetguard! You can buy them from Cummins or the Mopar filters are re-badged Fleetguards. Cummins sells them for about 30% less than Mopar. If you have a Cummins Power Club membership, you can buy Cummins parts and accessories at a discount.
Napa handles the donaldson heavey duty for cummins, I get the baldwin oil filters for just over $5 bucks, dealers price here $20 bucks, fuel filter, baldwin $10 bucks, dealer price right around $30 bucks, over 5 years Ive saved a few bucks.
