410 milage
I can not tell you about an 08 but I do have an 04.5 with 4.10's. It is not good. If I get 15 to 16 mpg's, that's pretty good for me. That is hand calculated. I do tow a smallish lawn care trailer, about 3000 lbs total, from house to house three days a week. Also, not much highway driving at all. Putting on 315 tires considerably dropped highway rpm's, netting better mileage on the highway, but I think they cost me around town.
Yeah thanks. The ole 92 does pretty good but the short end is the injector pump. I tow pretty hard with it and it eats em up. I get about 60k out of a pump and they ain't cheap. Anyway maybe not a good reason to get a new truck but one that makes me wonder.
Found a guy that has just about exactly what I am lookin for(well as close as a new truck will get) but it's got 410's. I am to understand you can't mess with tire size with these new trucks. I am told it screws up the computers. Any truth to it?

At 60 mph I don't know but at 70 mph I am at about 1950.
As far as I am concerned you sure can change the tire size. There are programmers that can adjust the trucks computer, or you cna take it to the factory and they can do it too. If you put on bigger tires it will make the reading on the speedo off a bit, as well as teh odometer, but so what! Also, your torque converter will not lock up as soon, and that will also cost you some mpg. But then, you just wire up at TC lock up switch and you are set.
It will run fine with bigger tires.

Thanks guys. Yeah I heard that also about the injectors and other parts.
As you can see I run 33" tires and 354 rears. Not optimal for the load I pull but at 62 mph I'm runnin about 1850rpm. I still love my truck and really don't want to part with her. I guess the idea of a 60k pump rubs me the wrong way. I got her new and she's only 18 so maybe I'm a bit premature.
