When these Injectors Fail, What Fails?
Ok,
I see these posts about failures. And I see these ebay ads for new tips all the time for the 04.5-07 CTD. Is that what is failing on these injectors, the tips?

The tips are for performance modifications. Normally what fails is the injector bodies crack spraying fuel in the valve cover area/ fuel in the oil. Also some sealing surfaces that can leak. That is what I have normally seen from on here. Every now and then you will see an injector that got stuck open, flooding that cylinder with fuel and causeing a piston meltdown. Have seen one myself and heard of a few others.
