What was the VP44 replaced with? Help me understand all the differnet components my truck has to deliver fuel to the injectors.

 

The newer trucks have CP3

 

is the CP3 under the hood?

do i also have a pump in the fuel tank where previous years truck did not?

 

the pump in your tank is a low pressure pump that supplies your cp3 injection pump located on the driver side of the engine.. the injection pump steps up the pressure to many many thousand psi into your fueld rail... all the injectors branch off of your fuel rail into your engine

 

when was the cp3 used? what year was first?

 

2003 in a Dodge application.

 

Mine was replaced with another VP-44
