What oil filters are we running?
It does not matter what you use for a full flow engine oil filter, they do not do much but give you a warm fuzzy feeling. If you were to cut one open, you would not see much of anything, unless you are dumping dirt in with your new oil. If you want to clean your oil, you must filter down to 1 to 2 microns, which is much finer then the average of 15 to 25 micron, nominal rated, that most full flow filters are.

The literature I read for the K&N showed that it is equipped with an anti drainback valve. The K&N and Mobil 1 filters are very similar, but in some applications the 1" nut on the K&N filter makes changing it much easier. I've used them on my Bronco for years.
I have a Fleetguard on it now but the next one will be a Donaldson high efficiency being its rated at 15 micron and the Fleetguard Stratapore is only rated 25 micron and others are even higher (poorer) like the Pureone that states on the box that its rated at 40 micron
I've been told the Mopar oil filter is made with standard paper media so it is not the same as a Fleetguard Stratapore that has synthetic media. Being its made with cheaper filter media is why you can buy a Mopar filter at Walmart for $9.95 or less.
For fuel filters I use the Baldwin PF7977 5 micron, but if I could not get one then I would use the Fleetguard Stratapore being it meets the minimum 7 micron requirement that both Dodge and Cummins put in to effect back in June of 2006.
