Aftermarket air filters: which one filters best?

Looking into aftermarket air filters and filter setups-

Anyone have oil analysis done for silicon to see which filters end up filtering out the most dirt? I'm leary of leaving the stock airbox for something that doesn't filter as well as a paper filter.

Thanks!

yes, there have been air filter studies done. I have had good luck with AFE filters, and I like to use the filter sock as well... it hurts flow a little, but makes cleaning much easier and extends intervals of actual filter cleaning (just clean the stock)

thanks-I've read threads on bobistheoilguy.com that say that afe's filter pretty well.

I wonder if anyone's looked at actual airflow numbers with the stock setup vs. an aftermarket setup if aftermarket filters are used in both-is it more worthwhile buying a replacement filter for the stock setup, or buying the whole thing?

Anyone know?

I had a UOA with 7000 miles on oil, and silicon was 3 ppm. Very low, was using a drop in Amsoil nanofiber. Actually flowed better too, stock filter sucked filter minder down, but nano did not till did more mods. Never did UOA with stock filter, but cannot imagine it being any better, I'm not sure, but I think anything under 7 is good. Someone correct me if they know please.
