Water pump on 03 out am I warrantied??
On the cummins website it says that the warranty must be transferred from the original owner to the 2nd owner within 30 days. The 100,000 mile warranty. But, I am the third owner and thought that the 100k applied to 100k miles regardless of the number of owners. I do see that the pump is covered under the warranty but I am afraid that since it says to the original owner I may not be covered. Has anyone been denied being as that you are not the original owner? If I am not covered I am just gonna take it to Cummins and have it done and be satisfied cause the *********** is gonna try to rape me I know. Thanks Aaron

Don't know about your warranty but changing the water pump on a Cummins is easier than changing a flat tire. You can pick up a pump at most autoparts for well under $100.

Don't know about the warranty, but while you (or the dealer) is in there, probably worth it to have a new serpentine belt installed too.
Dealer just did my water pump under warranty (original owner). I paid for a new belt and they put it on without charging (since they have to take it off anyways to change the pump).

If you're going to do the water pump and belt, do yourself a favor and change the tensioner also. The whole project might take an hour. Even if the dealer allows warranty for the third owner (which is doubtful), they would still find a way to charge you more money than it would cost to just buy the parts and do it yourself. Then you know it was done right.

got it changed today but had to pay the $100 deductible which isn't so bad since the pump listed at 194 dollars. But at cummins it was like 70 bucks, go figure. But all is well and it is running good. The funny part is just as I change the hoses and do a coolant change the **** thing goes bizurk. Take care gents
