Another oil change question???

I have been using dino oil in my ctd. I have tried most all the dinos out there but mainly rotella. I change my oil and filter on 5k mile changes and that is with mobil 1 filters. I am thinking of changing to rotella synthetic but to offset the cost I would like to go to 7500 mile oil changes. I drive 15k to 20k a year with maybe 20% of that being with 5000 to 10000 lbs. behind the truck. What do yall think? Is this safe with the rotella synthetic and using mobil 1 filters?

I'm going 7500 miles on Delo 400 and Fleetguard filters. Either way you're safe.

That is safe and Rotella is good but if you want to offset the cost just get a fleetgaurd or Baldwin filter >> they are just as good for filting and they are more than 1/2 the cost! M1 filters are good but they are overkill on the case and the filter media is about the same as Baldwin and FG's.

The mobil 1 filters are only 10 bucks at auto zone by me. Napa wants 12 bucks for a filter. I can buy fleetguard at the cummins shop for 9 bucks but they are 15 miles away. I cannot justify going that far for a filter to save a dollar when I drive by an autozone on the way home from work. Some of the people on here have reported better analysis using mobil 1 over fleetguard too. So for me, they work quite well. I haven't seen any baldwin's around here. They must be good though. A bunch of people swear by them.

On the 2003 HO severe service schedule B you can go 7500 miles on regular dino oil.

I run Rotella T, and use FLeetguard filters, costs about $30 at the most for me to change it filter is $9~, oil is $38 for 6 gallons, enough for two changes...

I change mine every 3k-3500, cheaper than changing it in any of my cars, and cheap assurance...

I kinda fell like I am in between severe service and regular going by the manual. Here in North Texas it gets pretty hot in the summer and I do have some, not alot, short trips. I split the difference and that is how I started doing 5k change. Sounds like I can rest at night going longer on the rotella syn. Thanks guys....
