What year truck is it? Is it just a turbo whistle or does it sound like there is a leak somewhere

It may not be coming from your turbo. If I had to guess without hearing it myself, a "teakettle" noise sounds like a timing issue.

Lol, sorry, I was thinking of a coffee maker for some reason. After remembering what a teakettle sounds like, I would have to guess boost leak.

Boost leak! check all your charge hoses for loose clamps, holes, etc.

You may have to build an adapter that you can fit over the intake on your turbo. I built one from a piece of hose off an old intake, and a 4"(dia) plastic pvc plug from Home Depot. Drill a hole into the side of the square "nut" on the end of the plug to accept a schrader valve, if you drill it out the end, you will find it will not fit without removing your oil filter.... I found this out.

Clamp this over your turbo, and set your compressor to 35#, you should find the leak quick enough.

10-4 on the boost leak. Mine did the exact same thing once and it was just a loose clamp. Tightened it up and all was well..
