Turbo blades

I was changing my oil today and thought I saw something on one of the turbo blades. I wiped it with my finger. Are these things forgiving of something like that or did I un-ballance it (considering how fast they rotate)?
Thanks

You won't hurt the turbo by wiping crud off the blades with your finger. What was on there, anything? Most turbos I've seen have some paint or dye on the blades, I guess put there when they are balanced. As long as you're not in there scraping on it with a screwdriver...

The thing that stands out in my mind is, how on earth could you see anything on the turbo blades while changing the oil?

It's easier to get the oil filter out if you pull the air intake duct off the turbo.

You already have to crawl undr the truck to get the oil out of the pan So why get back out from under the truck and pull the air intake and then remove the oil filter
To me it was just alot easier to put a bag around the AC electrical connector and drop the filter from there

Oh well I guese it doesn't matter now because I don't change my oil anymore

i just use a filter socket and take it off from underneath... the parts right in the way under the filter get oil coated just fine also...
