Turbo fan blades chewed up

I just received my new used 2005 two days ago and yesterday removed the K&N filter and went in to pull off my silencer ring when I noticed the front edges of all the tubo blades are rough and kinda chewed up as if something got sucked in there a while back. It's obviously been running like this for a while and I assume this is not good. Truck seems to have good power but I have no experience driving with a clean turbo to compare it with. Questions: is it possible just to replace the blades or do I need to replace the whole turbo unit? How difficult would it be to replace either? Any recommendations on who sells these parts? Thanks

Do you have any pics? It may be where they ground on it for balancing purposes. Hard to say without a picture.

Well, if it was done on purpose it looks like they did a terrible job since it's all the fins and it doesn't look smooth, more like a rat got in and chewed the edges of all the blades. I'll try and get pictures this evening.

one of the benefits on a k&n filter, sandblasting of compressor blades. before or during fixing the turbo, replace with a different filter

I've heard that about K&N's. I have a drop in K&N on my 06 and I make sure to check the intake tube weekly - and it's still spotless.

All good advice, I ordered a replacement Amsoil filter to fit the tube. Now, can anyone lead me to stock turbos?
