Truck wouldn't move???

Truck sat for 4 days, when I went to work I let it warm up a couple minutes and put it in drive and it acted like the emergency brake was on, would not move until I kept feeding in fuel then it went like normal. I was in my normal parking place on hard pack dirt and it seem to shift normal driving to work, any ideas? I don't use the emergency brake either??????

Did it rain while you were gone? Humid climate(I live in New Orleans)? Sounds like your rotors rusted to the pads. Happens on my Mustang every time I drive it because I only drive it a few times a month. I hear a pop from all four corners then I have free movement.

Nothing to worry about.

Except that I live in the desert and we have not had rain for a looooong time and I did not wash it before it sat for 4 days.

OK, well that hurts my theory except for rapid temp change. Unless you have had a 0% humidity over the period the rapid night cool to morning heating could plausibly lead to the rotors condensating. However, I don't think that the temp change would be fast enough to cause that.

Its possible that the TQ has drained. I have been dealing with mine reving and not going in during A.M. starts. I have just got into the habit of shifting from park to neutral for 4-5 seconds and then into drive as a work around. I also noticed that when I rev it in park during this time I feel a little vibration like the TQ is out of balance until it fills up.

By your description, I was thinking maybe it started in 2nd or 3rd gear, instead of first. I've seen many a 47RE do that, never a 48RE, but anything's possible.

I'd agree that the torque converter drained. Doesn't seem to matter what year, or even gas or diesel, but if we leave them sit on the lot for a couple days every one of them will do it. Must be a Dodge auto thing. If you put it in neutral for about 5 seconds before you put it in gear it will work just fine.

Thanks for the help! It is working fine now but I only drive 45 mph for 5 miles to work.

Only thing that bothers me is when I first got it and it had like 1000 miles I towed a 25' camper 300 miles to hunt and it jerked really bad going up any hills with TH on or off and CC on or off. Felt like towing an old uhaul trailer with the shock tongue thing but it only did it going up hills. Would that be TC too? No codes and it has not done it since and I tow the same camper and a 32 ft. toyhauler all over, and I just turned 10K miles.
