Post Truck Shut off while driving down road

While driving down the road the truck shuttered like it wasn't getting fuel then cut off, I tried to restart and it did but shut right off. I tried to start several more times but it would not take. The starter is fine and the cranking power is fine. Sounds like a fuel problem but I had a half of tank. Can you help???? Is it the Pump? I have 50K on this truck with no other problems...

crack the filter lines and see if fuel comes out when you bump the starter

We need more info. What year is the truck? How cold is it outside. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

You need a fuel pressure guage ASAP.

It is a 2004 HO, and it was probably about 40F outside. I don't think I have ever changed the filter to be honest with you, my fault I will keep it changed from now on. I had it pickuped up by roadside assistance and hopefully the 70K mile warranty will covers the problem. I just thought you all may know what was wrong for it to show no symptoms of trouble then quits.

Sounds fuel related for sure. Could be the filter, or more likely the lift pump. Should be covered under warranty.

50k and no filter change?

As you are probably now realizing, that is likely the problem.

15k mile interval on fuel filter.

I doubt they will cover it but let us know.

Bad Lift Pump

Just had the same happen to me. (04 with 35,000)
Mine was covered under emissions warranty.
They will put on a retro fit in tank kit.
Expect a couple of weeks in the shop. (They are WAY BACK/ORDER.)
Good Luck
