Silencer removal HELP

Just took mine out yesterday, ended up taking like a minute. Ended up using an angled flat head screwdriver to get under the tip of the clip. Since it is angled, you can get good leverage on it. Once i had it pried out enough, i took another flat head screwdriver and put that in between the clip and the turbo housing. Then just moved the screwdriver around until half the ring was out. Pulled the clip out, then out came the Silencer Ring.

what purpose do the baffles serve?? i saw these too ( kinda resemble crosshairs in the plastic tube?? Y/N?)

my wife gets her new 07 3500mega/dually tomorrow, on sat i'm gonna spray a box liner and pull the silencer ring out. i'll take then post pics it's really simple.

I was interested in taking out the silencer ring on my 06, but i just bought it like a week ago it doesnt hurt anything to take out the ring does it has anyone experienced any problems by doing that

I used 2 small screwdrivers. One of them I used to pry the beveled edge of the snap ring up just enough to put the other small screwdriver under the ring, & pried the little sucker out. Took about ten minutes total, including reasembly!
