Removed Silencer Ring - No Difference
I removed the silencer ring & can hear no difference in the turbo sound. What else do I need to do to hear more turbo. Can the interior baffles (the white curved ones & the black strait one) be removed without destroying them? I do not want to spend alot of $$$, or destroy the interior baffles.

You won't hear much of a difference without an aftermarket air intake of some sort.
I would leave the baffles. Someone on hear said that it help distribute the air more evenly to the turbo.

www.genosgarage.com sells the stainless steel replacement for the tube with the baffles for around $60.00. Put that on and the turbo will get much louder...

get the torque tube if you want more turbo sound. I actually took mine off for daily driving it was very loud. Sounds like a jet engine. The sound is pretty cool, but it got to be a little much for me driving everyday.

I opted to not remove the white curved one since it looks like it does more to turn the air than to silence it.
The black baffles can be removed by "cracking" the case. If I remember right, on one of the ends of the case there is a joint that goes around the circumference and that is where you need to smack it a couple times with a hammer/chisel in a couple different spots. Once it pops open you can remove the baffles. You can use anything from superglue, black silicone, JB Weld, or screws/tape to put the end of the case back on.
I agree, removing just the silencer ring did very little for the sound. Once I removed the black baffles the sound was much more noticeable.

I assume that an aftermarket tube does not have the white baffles in them. If that is the case then wouldn't that make them not as effective as the stock tube, especially if the white veins help direct the air.

leave the curved vanes in the bottom elbow. they are engineered for a purpose. go to www.airflowonline.com and buy the aluminum intake tube. 5.5 inch diameter, one foot length for about $13.00 cut it down to about 8 inches(measure the old tube to be sure since i cant remember) polish it up and you are done.
