rear driveshaft - mine is 1 piece, why are some 2 piece?

rear driveshaft - mine is 1 piece, why are some 2 piece?

Just wondering why some trucks (2003-2007)have a two piece rear shaft, and some have a 1 piece??? Mine is a 1 piece.

Do you have the 6 foot bed? If so, that is why I believe.

hmm. i wonder if it is due to drive train options.. gears, or trans. maybe even rearand size. if they differ.

You've got a 2wd truck. Without the transfer case hanging off the back of the transmission the driveshaft is too long for safety (see critical speed).

Ummm, mine is 2WD with a one piece aluminum driveshaft. The confusion continues...

The 07.5 is a 1 piece. The 04' is a 2-piece.

Sounds like it is a lottery as to what driveshaft you get.

I've got 2006 Reg cab,8' bed, 4X4, auto with 3.73,11.5 rear end and mines a one pc. shaft.

6', 8', quad cab, reg cab, extended cab, 2x4, 4x4, 5sp, 6sp........ all factors in wheelbase.
