Thanks for all the info guys.

So when running the bypass kit your eliminating your original oil filter right? Does it get capped or something?

You could probably drill and tap a fitting into the stock plastic cap couldn't you?

There are 2 different kinds, 1 just supplements your full flow filter and the other kit has a spin on adapter and relocates your oil filter and adds a bypass in one assembly.

Just so you know, the bypass system that you want is Amsoil's BMK21, formerly the BMK-11. This is a single remote bypass that routes from one of the two plugs on top of the full flow filter housing, up through the bypass filter, and then back down through the oil fill cap. This keeps the full flow filter in it's original place and won't cause oil pressure problems. The system you DON'T want to install on your truck is the one that moves the full flow filter and bypass filter to one single mounting plate. With this system you can have oil pressure problems, something you definitely don't want on a $40k+ truck.
