Question about tranny Im new

Hi everyone Im a new member, This Is a great site you got here!

I am about to purhase a 2003 dodge cummins with the 47RE tranny its only got 250 HP and a little slugish, however I would like to add a power enhancer such as a Banks six gun programmer. My question Is will the transmission handle it? It currently has 35 inch tires also. The guy who had it before me just rebuilt the tranny three months ago from a reputable company so I know he did it right(but rebuilt it with stock parts).
can someone help me thank you....

Transgo shift kit look for the tfod diesel kit. Takes about six hours and keep it clean.

It will handle it, just dont romp on the go pedal all the time. i have been running a edge juice on lvl 3/1 for 2 years now and have used it on lvl 4/5 every now and then on my stock tranny with no problems so far. I know my tranny needs to be upgraded but for just driving around the stocker will handle mild HP gains. Since you have the CA truck, you are 100hp less then everyone else and have more of a window with the stocker.

Unless the gears in the diffs have been changed it will not be as fast off the line with big tires. It is also harder on the tranny.

you just have to worry about it when it goes bad. I am still on my orig lift pump after 3 years and 47k miles. If you have the money, you can upgrade before it goes bad. if you dont have the money, just milk it until it goes bad. you might be one of the lucky ones and it wont go bad.
