Question New Dodge owner, tranny question

Took home my first Dodge 3500 ST yesterday, 25 miles on the clock. I have been a lifelong Ford driver but decided to give Dodge a try. I have the Cummins diesel, 6 speed , 4wd. I love the truck but found a pool of tranny fluid this afternoon. It is coming from the Bellhousing. I only have 285 miles on the clock. I also had a clicking noise for a while that has stopped. sound like it was coming from the valves.

It' back to the dealer tommorow morning.

Anyone else has this experience.

Thanks in advance

What tranny? Are you sure it is tranny fluid or is it engine oil?

ATF or oil?

Is it oil or ATF? The transfer case fluid is ATF, power steering fluid is ATF, and coolant is also red, 6 speed oil is nearly clear. Differential oil is light brown. It may be oil or grease they used to assemble the truck. Hope this helps. Let us know what you find out. Clicking noise may be normal on a cold truck. Ken Irwin

The G56 uses ATF.

It turned out to be a bad main tranny seal. G56. It took 2 days to get the part ,a 1 day to install. The dealer provided a rental 05 dakota free of charge.
I have but 800 miles on since then and no leaks. The gates are closer together than my Fords but very smooth. Having the reverse left and down takes some getting used to. I thought I had shifted in 2nd and was in reverse. The Cummins 610 is quiter than my 7.3 PSD.
