PSSSST Sound When Turning Off Engine

I have just noticed that when I shut off my engine with the AC on that I hear a sort sound like PSSST from the right front of the truck. I am thinking it might be a belt making the noise since the AC compressor is engaged. When the AC is off I do not get any noise.

Anyone else hear this?

Thanks,

Tom

normal with the pressure in the system. I got tired of the sound so I bought a bigger turbo now when I shut it off I only hear the turbo wheel...

As previous poster stated, its normal.

buddy replaced his alt. pulley to the update rev. and it stopped.
It`s got some kind of anti-rollback.

i heard it was from the engine coming to a quick stop and the acessories still having momentum. that causes the belt to slip on the some of the pulley's. just what I have heard

is it hissing or squeek? squeek is the belt sliiping due to the engine stopping very fast(compression makes it stop quick)
hissing is the remaining refrigerant going through the orifice until all parts of the a/c system equalize after shutdown

neither one is cause to worry.

What he said: equalization of pressure in your ac system. Normal

I've been wondering about the squeek too and I'm glad to know its nothing to worry about.
