Question Power Service & Marvel Mystery Oil combo

I read somewhere about the combo of the two. What are the benefits? Any negative side effects? What ratio is this mixture? I always use Power Service when I fill up but this is the first I've heard of using Marvel with it. I always heard that Marvel Mystery Oil is just "snake oil". Does this combo really increase fuel mileage? Thanks

I didn't read it. Where did you read it? What did it say when you read it?

I think a lot of what we read about MMO is still a mystery. Heck, I've read documentation that says that Cummins doesn't think we need to run FA's in their engines....

Well my first diesel truck. After reading about the benefits of additives from many long time diesel owners, I decided to try it. Anything to help my 04.5 600 run smoother and maybe help mpg. I have been running Power Service Diesel Kleen for about 7000-8000 miles. Seem to help a little maybe, but at least it was added lubrication, so it could not hurt.

Started using a Power Service and MMO mix 4-5 tanks back. 3 parts Power Service Kleen to 1 part MMO. Use 16oz of mix in every 28-30 gal fill up. May be my imagination, but the truck is idleing and running smoother. Mileage seems to be up about 1mpg over all for about the same period. I am at 22000 miles now, truck is running smoother than it did at 10000 miles.

At about 2.25 a tank, it seems like added protection from low quality fuel at least and maybe really will help mileage and engine longevity.

I run a Lucas/PS treatment in mine. I can tell a set of the pants difference. I'll have it in every tank for now on.

I to use PS and MMO at 16 oz per fill up. I have seen a consistent 2 mpg increase along with smoother quieter operation. I love it!

Well, I did it tonight. And wow what a difference! I swear I gained at least 10-15 horse power and 20-25 lbs of torque. Seriously, I got a fresh tank with the combo and will see if it runs smoother, quieter, and/or gains MPGs. The quest continues to find more bang for your buck.
