Re:Marvel Mystery oil

I've been using it, and it seemed to improve my mileage from 1-2 mpg. I paid 12 buck for a gallon of it when I was down in NJ recently. I can't find it up here in that quantity, but discovered last night that Wally World sells 4 quarts for basically the same price. I would like to find it in 5 or 15 gallon drums, but again, can't locate any. In the meantime, I've been experimenting with others like Howes, and Lucas.

Re:Marvel Mystery oil

I buy it and run it in my airplane always have always will. We believe and pretty much by looking at our egt gauges that the marvel mystery oil in our planes makes them run about 100 degreese cooler egt in summer months. I have backed this up with my last oil analasys and then my last engine overhal. The engie was in excellent condition. I was looking at the pistons and jugs and no scuffs or marks peroid before we stareted using the mystery oil our engines would never make it to overhal time. I truely believe in the stuff I run it in my truck and Cessna 185!

I've been running it for years.
Previous truck was a 1982 GMC with the 6.2L diesel. That truck went through two pumps in 10 years. Thats pretty good for the GM style injection pumps!
I now run it in my Cummins. So far, Ive noticed I get about 1/2 mpg more when I run Marvel.

Ive been wanting to try Lucas, but I still have a gallon of Marvel. I'll keep using it for now.

Rich.

Re:Marvel Mystery oil

Thanks for the tip, Tony. I make enough trips to NJ to keep set up in 1 gallon containers. But I wanted to really make a serious commitment...say a 15 or 30 gallon barrell. ;D Hey, it's available in 55 gallon drums too!

YeeHaa! I found 1 gallon jugs here in MA at a nearby Wally World for $9.87 which is a pretty good price. So, I got a fresh gallon ready to go after I finish my Lucas, and my Howes, and my Rotella DFA, and my.......

The only one I use is Lubegard for the tranny, although since I got my ATS, I haven't used any. I don't know if they put some in when they installed it but I'm going to ask if it's ok to use it before I throw some in there now. I have ALWAYS heard good things about Lubegard.

Jumping from the proponent to the naysayer mandates an explanation so if I'm ever asked, I can say something more than, well Jamie said don't use it.

~Dave

Re:Marvel Mystery oil

The reason I say this is after many oil analasys in aircraft we have found it to have no lubricating properties and only good for carbon removal on valves.
