I have a 2004.5 2500 Quad Cab with the shortbed and 4:10 gears.

I just visited the Dodge site to see what new options they're offering on the 2005's.

The site will only allow you the 10.5" rear end on new 2005 CTD 2500's???

I always thought, and seem to remember that the 2004.5 CTD with the 4:10 gears had the 11.5" rear end?

Anyone know for sure which rear end the 2004.5 2500's with 4:10 gears have?

If not how do I measure it to find out for sure?

I'm pretty sure that either ratio is available with the 10.5 or 11.5" rear on the 2004.5s. I have a 3.73 with an 11.5" anti-spin rear (just try and break it...). But, it might be that for 2005 they changed it so the 2500s have only the 10.5" and the 3500s have only the 11.5".

Guess this won't answer your question for certain, but it's what I've heard.

 

I have the anti-spin too but with the 4:10 gears.

All diesels come with 11.5" rear in 2004.5 and up. Don't trust the Dodge website...it was created by a preschooler.

 

Yep, I bought mine right from the dealer. They had it, I bought it!

 

The only 3rd gen diesel trucks with a 10.5 wher the SOs in Cali and the east coast. All others got the 11.5 AAM

 

My 03 2500 has the 11.5 rear end . It was listed on the sticker as an "option "

 

The truth has been spoken. Once the HO badge was attached in the HPCR engines the 10.5 were done away with... Since they are all HO now they arer all 11.5 inch rears. You can get the 3.73 or 4.10 usually with AAM "gear drive locking" diffs
