Oil Pan Rust Thru

I did the 2 part JB weld on my pan recently... No problems
Sanded rusted area, cleaned up, applied JB weld over almost entire bottom of pan... Waited about a week then painted with some roll cage high epoxy paint.. Good to go
JB Weld is some tuff stuff.

replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. No biggie, remove the plastic black top engine cover and jack that thing up until it hits the firewall, then the pan clears both the crossmember AND pick up tube and bolts are easy to get to. Easy peasy, done in under 2hrs

How did you jack the engine up? Wondering where is a safe place to put the jack and if there is a place to put a jackstand to hold the engine up when working on the pan?

I started off by pulling up by the lift eye on the side of the motor, but I didn't like how it was going up on an angle. I grabbed the stock jack from under the seat, a blocko'wood and jacked it up by the crank pulley. Nice and straight and effortless. If you undo all the pan screws prior to lifting, that motor is only out of the mounts for max 5min.

The pan on my 04.5 is getting bad now. I think I'm going to try the grind and jb weld first. Seems a few guys have had luck with that, better than forking out hundreds for a new pan
