Oil Filter

Went to pick up the supplys for the oil change today at the local napa, All they had were the napa brand filter,, made by wix? Anyway. I cant find anything on the cummins site showing specifications of the filters to make sure that for some reason the engine has a problem they cant deny it due to the napa filters. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

there is a tsb that shows what filters can be used and I think the wix is not one of them. The TSB is 09-004-01 and applies to ALL cummins engines to '01 but the same rules still apply to our 3rd gens.

I used the Purolator L45335 on my 2001 for 3 years and never had any problems. I now run the same filter on my 05. They are easy for me to pick up locally at Advance Auto for about $5. They were on the list so I figured they should be fine.

It's been a while since I was in a NAPA store, but seems like I remember all they sell are NAPA brand filters? I go to a local Cummins big rig shop. The LF3892 is the Fleetguard Stratopore without the flutes. I pay about $7 for it. Just don't use the orange brand filters.

I have been using the Amsoil filter, the SDF-80 I think (not sure of the number exactly, but it is supposed to be for the cummins). Any known problems with this filter?

I use the Amsoil filters and absoultely luv them. The old Amsoil filter was the SDF 80, Amsoil has started using Donaldson Endurance filters which are better than the SDF 80 filters, the Donaldson filters part no. is ELF 7349, through Amsoil for the Cummins TD.

Are those the white or black filters by Donaldson.
