Oil filter on 2005

Let me say!

I am hear by praying for all of you that have not chaned your filter in your new 2005 models. Just changed my front and rear fluids as well the oil. The oil filter was a mother ________ to get off. I bought the "ratchet" style remover I had read on a previous post. Broke the extension holder on the first turn. Somebody please shoot the monkey who put this on in mexico.

Mine wasn't bad. It was tight but came off with only a little effort and the Lisle spanner wrench.

Next time will be easier.

The monkey in Mexico had nothing to do with it.......it was the gorilla in Indiana that's to be held responsible.

I almost called a tow truck to haul my wife's new Jeep to the dealer after hours of Fussing and Cussing to get the factory filter off. I actually crushed it with a strap wench after the filter socket tore up the bottom of the filter. After the Jeep fun and what I have read, I'm taking my new CTD Ram to the dealer for it 1st oil change!

I may be picking up a 05 CTD in the next couple of days, would it help to loosen it just a little and tighten properly so it's not such a pain to get off in a few months when it's time for the first oil change, or don't you think it will matter?

Mine came off the first time relatively easy with the new-fangled ratchet style remover, but I think it was due in large part to me having manly arms rather than girly-man arms. Hint: Try lifting more weight than (8-10) 12 oz bottles of light beer a day.

Just kidding guys!
