I've got 47,000 miles on my Toyo OC AT 285/75/17s and I will replace them with the same thing when they are gone. I just rotated them for probably the last time.
They have the stiffest sidewall of any E rated tire I've ever seen! Very beefy.
Also, during March, Schwab has Toyos on sale.
Get the Toyos.

I've got Toyo M55s on my '03 dually and have been very happy with the winter traction from them.
You can put a 12.5" tire on a 7" rim. Tire shops just don't like to, its not the "recommended" rim size for that tire. I believe because the sidewalls bulge a bit and can be exposed to curb/trail damage.
However I've done it many times with no ill effect. I actaully prefer it cause I can run lower tire pressure on the trail without the bead popping. I usually run a tire with pretty beefy sidewalls so I've not overly worried about damage.

If anyone cares.....Nitto is part of Toyo. Toyo is originally a Japanese company, now with plants in Japan, China, and the USA (I think toyo has a manufacturing plant in Georgia).
I have no personal exp with Toyo tires but have heard mostly good things about them. I have also heard rave reviews for Nitto, my personal experience with nitto was not that good, they were loud and did not wear well at all, they needed lots of rotating and balancing and didn't last very long (I had the terra grapplers on a suburban).
I firmly believe everyone should buy what they like best, just please be sure that every chance you get, you buy things that are at least, made in the United States.
Thanks and God save America.

I have never run Nittos, but just put on a set of Toyo AT. Only have 1K miles on them, so far so good
Which Tire are you looking at specifically?
I think that of course makes a difference in durability. I am partial to Toyo because they sell a nice mudder that is "E" rated. Not too much to choose from if you want that 10ply...
I have a modified vehicle insurance on my truck and because of that...they require the tires have the minimum rating for a 2500 diesel engine full size...otherwise god forbid Im in an accident and they can relate it somehow to my tires..Im not covered.

I mean, If at all possible, try be sure that the tire says made in USA on the sidewall....
To further clarify, I didn't mean to exclude our Canadian brothers (and sisters), lots of quality tires are made in Canada.
What I really meant to say is...
When you can, Buy North American!

I've have Nitto Terra for 30k some miles and have warn well it suprised the crap out of my Discount Tire guy. Figure got about 10k left on them. I've gone as far as 10k before rotating them and they look good. Had a buddy had Toyo OC and got only 20k on them. I think tire life depends on driving habits ,area roads/conditions, PSI used. Think I'll be going with Durra's for the next round.
