Toyo AT Vs. Nitto Terra Vs. Bfgoodrich All Terrain T/A KO

I've heard that the toyo tires wear better than the Nittos is that true. Well all the reviews I’ve read on the Nitto terra grappler are mixed and it’s annoying trying to figure out who telling the truth. The majority of people are saying that the Nittos last 30-40,000 miles and start showing wear in the 20,000 mile range. And then there are the people who say Toyos last a little bit longer and are quieter. Well guess what I’ve stumbled upon the Bfgoodrich line of tires and the size I’m looking for is 325/50/22 and the majority of people claim who drive a 3/4 ton say they have hit over 80,000 miles!!!!!!!! One guy claims he hit 120,000 on one set and still has some tread left. I honestly want to say it’s Bull **** but I don’t know what to think I don’t know much about that tire.

The bfgoodrich is the most expensive of the three. What I want to figure out is:
-Which one lasts longer from experience
-Pros and cons
-Is the Bf Goodrich worth the extra $$$$$$
-How many miles have you gotten on regularly rotated tires
-Where did you purchased them
-And would you buy another set

Sorry this is such along post but I honestly never imagined being so frustrated in finding a tire.

I put a set of Toyo 285/70/17 AT's on my 2500 last year.

Rotated every 4,000 mi., always check pressure, no hard driving.

All highway miles, I have about 10k on them now and they are worn approx. 50%.

I am not too impressed with the mileage but they do ride great.

Looks I will get about 20k or so out of them. If that is indeed the case I will not be purchasing another set

i have toyo 325 70 17 and have about 5k miles so far and are doing ALOT better than my last set of bfg 315. i got rid of them with about 25k miles and were almost bald. for me personly i think the toyos will last alot longer than the bfg. i have driven pretty hard on both sets and the toyos are holding up way better! never had the nittos so cant tell you there. i am thinkin my toyos will last around 40k-50k. and for the guys getting 80k-120k a set i really wonder what there doing cause i would like to know.

My BFG 285/70/17 ATs have approx. 42,000 on them and will probably last another 10-15K. I run 65psi (max) all the time and rotate every 7,500.

what about the REVO's? I have had great results on a non-diesel car...

I just wonder what opinions are on these as well within the comparison..bc3

I ran 315 BFG's exclusively on my old Powerstroke and I usually got at least 60k out of them and I was not very good about rotating. Now I am on my 2nd set of Nittos in 50k. I guarantee my next set will be BFG's. Nittos just do not last.

I had the BFG's on my last truck and had around 40,000 on them and would have gone another 20,000. They were a great wearing tire, but I think I will try the terra grappler on this truck when I get my new rims. I just really like the looks of the terra grappler alot more than the BFG.

Tires

35x12.5x17 General Mud (Not sure they even make these any more and that's good. Dealer had these on the truck when I bought it.) - 18k

315x?x17 BFG AT - 32k

325x?x17 Toyo AT - 25k

325x65x18 Nitto TG - My current tire and I have 9k on them. They still look great. So far the best wearing tire I've owned. The Toyo AT was the worst wearing besides those crap generals.

Daily driven in Houston and I've never done a burn out. I don't baby tires and drive 80+ when I can. Towed with all 12k+ and Nitto have been my favorite.

From what I understand with all your guys post is that Toyo and the Nittos last about the same as far as wear goes but that the Nitto terra grapplers ride better? What I’m seeing is the same stuff I see on the online reviews which is frustrating to me.

BFG guys

Surfram- 42,000 and had another 10-15 k left on them
Drillpipe- averaged 60,000 mile driven
KKB- 40,000 miles driven when replaced and had 20k more left on them

So it looks like the BFG guys average around 60,000 miles a set which is great compared to the 25-35k miles people average on the Toyo AT’s or Nitto AT’s. The truth is BFG’s are going to cost me a little more money but I don’t want to replace them that often because the cost will be too great. And as far as the Bridgestone REVO's I’ve heard a lot of good stuff on SUV’s but not on diesels because of their weight and load capacity. Thanks for all your guys input I have a lot of thinking to do.

Toyo M55 - 60K+...i traded my 02 off and they still had 40% left.
NOSIY, and hard riding....but tough as nails

BFG AT KO - 22K....still had lots of tread left when i got rid of them....I just could not stand the lack of traction, i would dig holes in 2 inches of snow in 2wd.

Toyo A/T - 34K....my buddy had them on his dodge this is what he got

Hankook M/T - 42K so far....rears wear faster than the fronts...LOL. Rears have 40% fronts 60%

So far I would go back with Hankook in my case.

I ran BFG AT's 265-70-17 and got almost 75k out of them. I tow a 30' 5th weighing between 10k-11.5k lbs. and had no problems. I now have the Terra Grapplers in a 285 series. I was towing the 5th this past weekend and noticed more sway in turns. It just felt like the tires were softer. The are E load rated and had the max. 80 psi in them. When I wear these down I don't know if I'll go back to them. I went with the Nitto's for better traction than what I got out of the BFG AT's. Maybe next time I'll try the BFG KO's.

I would say BFG's will last the longest, the problem i have always had with them is that they love to pick up and hold rocks until you get to highway speeds then they release the rocks at the exact moment that will allow maximum rock chip potential... ... I got 56K out of my stock BFG rugged trails... I am now at 72k and have a set of 285 10 ply toyo's... they have well more than 60% tread left on them, but I doubt they will last longer than the R/T's before... I but if I get 40k out of them I will probably get another set, they handle better then the factory BFG's, in dry, wet, snow, and ice and that makes the less mileage worth if it keeps me from loosing control and hurting my truck...

I had 55k Miles on a set of BFG MT's 285/70R17 on my 05 Truck and they still had at least another 10K on them. I still see the truck with them on now about a year later but don't know how much it gets driven. I have 35k Miles on my BFG AT's 285/70R17 and see no reason I wouldn't get 65+ out of them as they have lots of tread still and look great. I probably put 90% of the mileage running empty 30% City 70% Highway and 10% towing 7k lbs on the highway on both those tires to give you an idea on wear. Hope that helps.
