It is a helical gear torque sensing differential similar to the anti-spin differential that Dodge puts in the rear of the 11.5 AAM rear axle.

It was $500.00 at West Coast Differentials. The part number is 914A643.

How does this work with the full time hubs? Seems like it would be adding to the existing mess in the front end, if I were to run one of these I would definitely have a free spin kit installed and if installing a free spin kit i'd be more inclined to go with a detroit locker... just my .02 and it's probly overpriced
Thanks
Monty

Now that looks interesting. Probably easier to install than my Eaton, however I agree with Monty and would want free spin hubs in the front before running one on the street.

Did I tell you guys how I buried the front of my truck in the snow when I broke through some ice last winter on the trail? It was 4 deg out and we were miles from camp with about a foot of snow. I engaged the Eaton, rocked her back and forth a bit then she pulled out in reverse. I did lose the front air-dam. I also put the chains on for the next excursion.

I bought the Eaton since the year before I was in the ditch with the left wheels on ice and the right ones buried. I couldn’t get out at all! I stood on the brakes, punched the breaks, ran with the e-brake on, nothing would engage the right rear wheel that was in the ditch. At least another Dodge pulled me out.

I put the Truetrac in my front axle about 2 weeks ago. You cannot even tell it is there until you put it in 4WD. It transfers power to both wheels, but still lets you turn very easily.

Here are a few pics of the Truetrac installed in the front with the 4.56 AAM gears.
