Nelson muffler numbers
i searched over at the Ryder site and i keep finding the Nelson 5" In/ 4" out but i sware there is a 4" in / 4" out 40" muffler and a 4" in/ 4 out muffler at 51" both are straight through mufflers but i cannot for the life of me find them.
Im going with the 40" most likely, (though the 51 is tempting) that 40 should get me where i want my 23" straight through 4" Drones too much with a heavy load. i will be adding sound deadener but a muffler swapis easy for me right now.
thanks

MMMmmmm.... Grits!!
I have the 51" Nelson. The part # was 86131M. It was straight through with no center disc like I found on the Donaldson. Stayed as quiet as stock with the cat still on. Fisherguy is where I got the idea of fitment.

If you want a nice mellow sound, but not much louder than stock, go with the 51" nelson. My son has it on his 03. I have the 40" on my 05, and under load up hills, or when you step on it good, it's a little too loud for me. I prefer the 51". I bought both at Alberta Cummins, and the prices were excellent.

They do make a 3.5" 51" muffler. I put one on my 2nd '03 before changing it all out from elbow on back. I'll see if I can find the part number for you.

Here's a link to the Nelson mufflers:
(click type 1, then you can sort by whatever column you want)

Look for Part: 86113M, when you find it click on the part number, looks like a 51" muffler with 3.5 in and outlets:
