Need Wiring Help
I purchased a throttle pedal from a 2005 Dodge Cummins that I plan to use on my Cummins QSB3.3T Jeep conversion. The Mopar part number is 53032753AC.
Can someone with a factory shop manual identify the 6 wires that attach to it?
To complicate matters, I'm somewhat color blind and cannot accurately identify all of the wire colors, but I'll give it a go. The plug is labeled 1 - 6. Wire #1 is closest to the firewall.
#1 - Violet with brown stripes
#2 - White with brown stripes
#3 - Brown with violet stripes
#4 - Brown with yellow stripes
#5 - Brown with white stripes
#6 - Brown with violet stripes
Thanks

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the info. That definitely helps me identify the wiring, but has added a bit of confusion. After speaking to Cummins, I may have incorrectly understood that the Dodge Cummins pedal will work on my QSB3.3T. If it does work, it isn't obvious. The QSB3.3T uses the CM2150 ECM and calls for an idle validation switch. The Cummins rep explained to me that this is optional, but per his explanation seems like a smart safety option.
I checked a co-workers 2006 Dodge 3500 5.9L Cummins and it had a CM849B ECM. I think the new 6.7L uses a CM2150 ECM, but I'm not sure. I'm wondering if the 6.7L pedal will work for my QSB3.3T. From the info I've read, the 6.7L uses a CAN bus system. I do not know how the accelerator pedal interfaces with the ECM/CAN.
I've attached a link to the QSB3.3T CM2150 wiring schematic if anyone would like to take a look and post any ideas.

It's been 3 days since my last bump to the top. So, here it is again..........
Does the 2003 - 2007 Dodge Cummins ecm use an idle validation switch? If yes, where is it located? I'd like to use my Dodge/Cummins 2005 fuel pedal if possible.

The APPS "idle" and "not idle" outputs are wired to the ECM on an 04.
Not sure what you are doing but I hope this helps.
In the ECM inputs section of the FSM, it stated Idle Validation #1 and #2.
These are the only idle inputs into the ECM in the FSM drawings..
ACCELERATOR PEDEL POSITION SENSOR (DIESEL A/T) - 6 WAY
1 K914 18RD/WT SENSOR GROUND
2 K556 18OR/BR NOT IDLE SWITCH
3 K22 18BR/WT TP SIGNAL
4 K922 18LG/OR THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR RETURN
5 K851 18VT/PK 5-VOLT SUPPLY
6 K565 18OR IDLE SWITCH
ENGINE CONTROL MODULE C1 (DIESEL) - 60 WAY
34 K565 18OR IDLE SWITCH
44 K556 18OR/BR NOT IDLE SWITCH

I finally built the wiring harness for my QSB3.3T. I don't think the 2007 fuel pedal that I have is going to work with my CM2150 ECM. The QSB3.3T needs a fuel pedal with Idle Validation switches. BlackPuff seems to have outlined a fuel pedal with idle & not idle switches. Does anyone know what year(s) truck has this pedal?
Thanks

After much research, I've learned the 2004.5 to 2007 Common Rail fuel pedal will NOT work with the QSB engines. These fuel pedals do not have idle validation switches. The 2004.5 - 2007 pedals use two APPS instead. I'm assuming they must agree or the ECM goes into limp home mode. BlackPuff_Gone has listed the wiring configuration for a 2004 APPS. I did not know it when I originally posted, but the 2003 - early 2004 engines use the same cable operated apparatus and APPS with built in IVS as the 1998.5 to 2002 Rams. Many of you may already know this information, but I thought I'd post it for those who don't. It may save someone the frustration that I've had getting to this point.
Moving forward, I may try fitting a Timbo APPS to a 7.3L Superduty pedal. I don't know if this will workout, but the only way to find out is to try. I'll report back when I have more information.
Thanks
