ok ppl i need some help i got a 2500 04.5 mods are aem intake work horse,4inch exhaust with a silencer and a fass pump 150 serries or whatever and a edge ez, the other day the truck had a stumble to it a noticed it was smoking looked under the truck and it was covered with oil/diesel everywhere got the truck home ran fine at idle,oil level was beyond full, i suspected a injector? so i removed them all to look for any cracks or w/e did not find any visible problems now i installed them back on changed the oil and started the truck and it has a loud!!! pop noise like a dead cylinder can some1 help diagnose this i dont think i did anything wrong i hope! is there a way to check if a injector is dead?????

 

You have crack the body on an injector. Time to send them off or replace. I doubt you will see any visible evidence. The Edge Ez is terrible on injectors if your are not careful and have a rail pressure gauge to guide you, especially on the 04.5 and up trucks. You can run the truck with the valve cover off and see which one is spraying everywhere. Just be out of the way cause that high pressure fuel will hurt you.

 

will having the body of the injector cracked cause it to have that loud knock/missfire to the engine im sure that its not spraying at all i may be wrong but i will take the valve cover back off tomorow and see wich injector is spraying fuel out and i dont think i will be sending them out to get check i heard that its expensive and not worth it! just buy all 6 new injectors with performance ones but dont have that type of $ now for new 6 injectors

 

From what I have heard on here, yes it can make a loud knock. If you have filled the crankcase with diesel, then you have one that is cracked. You don't have to buy 6 new injectors, just send them to F1 and have them rebuild yours and install Flux 1 tips. Yes, they are expensive.
