low speed vibration
O.K. here's whats going on with my '05. Yesterday I was driving along, and as I came to my turn off, I was slowing to turn, then when the truck got to about 10mph it started shaking bad. I pulled over to the side and got out to check it out. thought that I might have a rear inside tire flat, nothing looked out of the ordinary. I drove off, very bad vibration at 5-10 mph, smooth as always when over 20mph, any thoughts before I take it to the dealer. I am going to sit it up on jack stands this evening when I get home, and let it idle in 1st or 2nd gear to see if I can see anything doing something its no supposed to.
Had a similar problem.
My truck is a 04.5 6 spd. It has 40K miles on it. My problem was, I'll call it seized u-joints. There was no rotational play in the drive shaft. I dropped the driveshaft and the rear joint, the axis on the shaft was seized. Upon disassemply I found no grease in the rear joint. I replaced my u-joint with greasable precision #351's. Like $40 a piece. I had a 1 piece shaft no carrier.

This truck only has 18K, I got under the truck, the carrier bearing or bushing it looks like to me a very cheap, weak design, has alot of up and down play in it, dont know if it should have any play in it or not, I guess to the dealer I go.
had same problem with mine as well as the back of the transfer case was leaking. i thought i was going to have to hit the service manager with a board because he was certain that i had warped rotors. They replaced the yoke and seal which is supposed to fix my leak. I just got it done today so i will have to wait and see if the leak is gone. They said by back u-joint was binding so they replaced it as well. Everything is good now, all was covered under 7-70 powertrain warranty. I was supprised they did not give me any problems about my k&n or my straight pipe, but i took the edge off before i went

Most manual trans. drivers will see a lower mileage interval for replacements on the u-joints due to the added stress ( usually ) put on them when shifting. Autos seem to be a little smoother on the shift, with less stress.
great timing guys
I just had tires rotated last week, thought it might be related to that. Didn't make sense that it was only @ 5-10 mph, though. Gotta go out of town next week, no time for the dealer to check it out. guess i'll be doing u-joints this weekend

Anyone know the part number for the carrier bearing? Should I change it while I do the U joints? I can not find any carrier bearings and need this fixed early next week to go Camping. I have my priorities. LOL.
Thanks
