Glacier here as well and it is a very easy install and great people to work with. About 15k worry free miles.

i am in a bit of a fix here with my stock lp. mine is severly on its way out and i cannot get a walbro as soon as i need it( have to order it from the states to canada and will likely sit at customs for a bit) .
only lp i can find is another one that mounts behind fuel filter cannister. should i bother to order a walbro also?

stupid question here. when does lp actually lift the fuel? when starting, or all the time?

As soon as you turn the key it starts pumping fuel. On mine it keeps the fuel to the cp3 at 30psi and the rest is sent back to the tank.

Unfortunately it is required all the time as it supplies fuel to the inlet of the high pressure, CP3, pump that feeds the common Rail (CR) to the injectors. The CP3 will not draw the fuel from the tank.

Took a look at mine today, mounted on the factory fuel filter. It still looks OK to me, LOL. If and when it dies I might just go factory again unless some one makes a direct replacement. I see no need to replace the factory fuel filter unit as I am stock.

Unfortunately if you have to replace the lift pump on your 03 and DC does the replacement it will be an in-tank model as they discontinued the fuel filter mounted version. There is a fuel line adapter that mounts in place of the old fuel filter lift pump and then the fuel ine pick up and fuel level sending unit are removed and replaced with the "new & improved" in-tank lift pump.

They had in-tank pumps through 2004.5. I may have one of the last 2004.5 models and my lift pump is on the fuel filter housing. 2005 was the first year for in-tank pumps.

If you didn't get your truck brand new, somebody may have changed it out.

I'm over 46, 000 miles with no problems. But I've been considering the Glacier/Walbro system for a while now.

I wish I could get a reliable in tank pump, the design makes more sense. It only has to push, and it stays cooler in fuel. I paid big bucks to have a submersible pump put on my home, 150' under the ground. They beat the heck out of a pump sitting up in the yard, and it never looses a prime either. The reason a bet is because aftermarket folks would have a harder time getting them to fit several applications because size restrictions and float arrangements in the tank.
