Lift Pump Replacement Recommendations

I am looking to replace my stock LP with something more reliable and install a Fuel pressure Gauge. I would like to purchase everything from the same vendor can you give me some recommendations?

My truck is basically stock with the exception of a EDGE EZ box and a cold air kit I have 50,000 miles and am concerned that the stock pump may leave me stranded sooner than later. I'm not really looking for performance, just reliability.

Thanks.

I second the Glacier Kit. You can order it straight from this website. I installed one on my truck and love it runs like a new truck and easy to install.

Can they really be built? Or was that a joke? I'm all about saving some $$ if I can.

But if you were kidding, how much are the Glacier kits?

Try a FASS pump. Totally bypasses the stock lift pump. My friend has one and doesnt know what he would do with out it. Im going to have mine put on in mid september along with a bunch of other goodies.

With a stock truck will a new lift pump help performance if the stock factory one is working fine? Will an aftermarket lift pump last longer than a factory one?

An aftermarket one will not help if you have positive pressure to your CP3 at WOT under a heavy load. An aftermarket one will have greater longevity to the stock lift pump. Our 03's have a miserable stock lift pump as it is mounted on the fuel filter so it actually has to suck the fuel up to the filter housing from the tank which at low tank fuel levels means it is pulling another maybe 20 inches uphill. Probably why these fuel filter lift pumps die so easily.

are the intank lift pumps better? if i have an 04 and don't see a pump (not really sure what it looks like, but i am pretty sure one isn't there) and hear it running in the tank, does that mean it is an in tank lift pump? did some get these and others not? were they replaced this way?

I hope it's at the filter. At least I won't have to drop the tank to replace it.

The filter mounted pump is on the back side of the fuel filter and is about 1 1/2" in diameter X maybe 3 inches long. I don't remember as I shucked mine quite some time ago. If you hear it running in the tank then you probably have an in-tank pump. I believe DC realised after many failures of the filter mounted lift pump that the in-tank lift pump would resolve the problem, around the 04.5 model. There still have been issues with the in-tank lift pump and to replace it the tank must be dropped. Personally I the the Walboro kit that Gypsyman has put together at Glacier Diesel Power.
