so why would an injector need to be replaced at 30k miles? good for me it was under warranty. no diesel fuel in the oil.

be happy you didn't get stranded, like I did on a friday afternoon...... I guess they are like some other things, that either go at or below 30 thousand miles, or they last forever, could be a number of things, exactness of build, metal quality from tip to tip, or particular heat trouble froma certain cylinder...... well at least I got the "free rust proofing treatment" from my experience

 

I got rustporoofed twice within 30 days, no need for Ziebart for me. #4 & then #6 About 10 gallons of fuel each time. Trouble is now I keep waiting for the other 4 to break. Oh well, time for a trip, will see next weekend, need to see a little more of Nashville Tenn and maybe a side trip thru parts of Kentucky....

not sure if you are asking me but yes, i run 10 oz of PS silver and about 4 oz of MMO with each fill up.

What did the dealer say was wrong with the injector?

 

Run PS & MMO every otehr tank. Tried the Quad ZXT box for a little while but when I lost the CP3 took it off and havent, other than for a brief test , put it back on yet. Still trying to decide if I want to deal with it or not.

 

only that it was faulty. something to do with the "wire and tip". not being any type of mechanic i realy did not understand. i know harleys but not diesels. i also get a metal on metal sound when turning the wheel all the way to the right and pulling forward. the dealer says they can't find anything wrong. if i had not gotten such a good deal at this dealership i would not have bought there.
