Are theyre any pics or schematics showing the process? Does the cummins part come with any instructions? I am very mechanically minded but have no Idea where to start any pointers would be appreciated.

These are the instructions that I used for mine. Someone sent me some ECM pics and other links, but they're likely on my laptop and I cannot find them right now. I did use wagonfixin's instruction the most - no pics or schematics, but the written instructions are right on the money - Post #21 in this thread:

Simple, easy to follow and do, but somewhat difficult to get your hands in there - it can be done however. Works like a charm! I made my wiring look OEM by intertwining the wires with the OEM ECM wires - most tech.'s wouldn't notice the difference.

I strongly recommend disconnecting the batteries to avoid throwing codes or messing up the ECM.
