hex key size for '05 G56 Tranny drain & filler plug

OK folks, so what size hex key (allen wrench) do I need to use on the drain and filer plug for the G56 tranny?

By the way, I was surprised that the G56 uses the ATF+4 same as the transfer case, but that's what the dealer said and confirmed with my owner manual.

As I guess that you have already discovered, neither the users manual nor the '05 service manual specifies the size of the wrench. I don't know either, but the service manual did list the torque specs. Both drain and fill plugs are the same: 57N-m 42 ft. lbs. Hope this helps!

I bought a three pack at Auto Zone for about ten $$ that had the 14mm allen, that fits on a 3/8 socket. A 9/16 SAE socket will also work.

Just a correction on my ealier reply. A 9/16 allen will work NOT a socket. A 1/2 inch allen will work but it will be loose.

It's a 17mm hex key, just changed my fluid recently.

It is a 17mm hex on the NV5600's; dunno about the new G56.

Thanks, folks.
I'll go visit Sears for a 14mm hex key. Late last night I took some measurements and figured it would either be a "large 13mm" or a 14mm.
Figured it had to be metric.
ps. I have a slightly used 17mm from my old NV5600 - won't fit the G56 (it's the first thing I tried).
