front drive shaft spining in 2wd????????help please
the other day i noticed when i put my truck into 4wd then put it back into 2 it stayed in 4 for a bit longer than it should have also noticed my front shaft is spinning all the time even in 2wd could use some help please!!!
also got code p 0236 not likely to do with the 4wd problem but i woulndt mind knowing what it is.

He's messing with you.
The axles are bolted onto wheel hub on the 3rd gens. They don't unlock. When it's in 2wd, the front driveshaft is disconnected from power inside the transfer case, but the front axle and driveshaft always turn.
When you shift into 2wd from 4wd, it can take a bit for the shift to complete, as there may be quite a bit of torque between the two front axles.
