Slop in steering shaft. Please check your's. 2wd

I recently had the front end rebuilt on my 2wd with rack and pinion steering. It's no better. So I'm thinking it's the rack. I was looking around and noticed what seems to me, a lot of play in the universal joint and or shaft connecting the steering colum to the rack. I can't really get to it to see where the slop is. I'm thinking it's the top of the rack, but that's just a guess at this point. Is some movement normal. Can you guy's check your's for slop and let me know if you have it too. Thank's.

You mean by slop is grabbing the steering shaft and wiggling it? If so I have a little.
