front drive shaft spining in 2wd????????help please

the other day i noticed when i put my truck into 4wd then put it back into 2 it stayed in 4 for a bit longer than it should have also noticed my front shaft is spinning all the time even in 2wd could use some help please!!!

also got code p 0236 not likely to do with the 4wd problem but i woulndt mind knowing what it is.

front shaft spins all the time , unless you put in a set of unlocking hubs like ems , dynatrac .

thats what i thought wasnt a 100% sure tho someting else must be wrong then it dont feel rite possibly tome for a new tranny

The front driveshaft shouldn't spin if you are in 2wd.

But, this time of the year with cold weather the viscosity of transfer case fluid will make it turn.

Try to turn it by hand, it will be a little harder than usual, especially when compared to summertime.

02 and up do not have the axle disconnect. It will spin all the time.

hehe ... best line of all time...(4 years back)
I was pulling out a 82 Chevy Pickup 4x4 that was stuck in a "middle puddle" about 5 feet long, 1 foot deep maybe.
Hooked up and pulled him out without leaing idle. Looked down, the redneck didnt have a front driveshaft installed. When asked about it, the reply.
" oh 4 wheel drive stile works, tha driveshaft just makes it so 4 Wheeldrive works when I turn."
I bet my expression of omg was amazing.

lol thats awesome
i had a old chevy 4x4 a little while ago it was pretty fun had a 500hp 454 in it was good for running into stuff like trees and fence posts i also took out a 10x15 shed drove rite through it took the thing to the ground only problem was it had no brakes not a big deal but the boggers i had on it kept rippin the front end apart when they hooked up
