Evenin, DTR.... my first CEL in over 4 years...

P2149 Bank 2 (Cylinders 4-6) Shorted High Or Low

Truck is running good, I might have noticed my battery volts a little high after the CEL came on, but that could be my imagination...


I'm gonna go out and look at grounds, connections, ect...any other advice?

Check connections! More than likely the issue. Edge , that is......

 

I may take it off, but I've been using it for 2 years with no problems.

On second thought, it's coming off later.

 

Just heard several guys with the same or similar code ( 1/2/3 injector , 4/5/6 injectors, ect ) . Just make sure there's no corrosion and that they are seated well. Next step would be to pull the valve cover and look for a chaffed wire. IIRC, the wires go thru the valve cover gasket, and there have been several known to rub thru.

With the way my week has been going, I would not be suprised if the truck threw a pistion while idleing, the OL left me, and I was struck by lightning after being in a plane wreck.

wow i just threw the same code tonight, but i was running low on fuel and bogged out to almost stalling then started going again , i have the edge also

Sooo... Yesterday morning, jump in the truck... CEL is gone. Wednesday night, I checked a few connections, tightened my ground cables on my battery... everything looks good...

Ya know what I was thinkin...

I did turn my edge to 1 and my MP-8 all the way down, then this happened... I turned it back up.... it went away...???
