First CEL @ 19,000 miles...

Darn... Thought I had a good one but this morning I look down and that little orange engine on the left side of the dah is lit up...

Of course I am on the freeway and don't know when it came on... Also running late for the class I teach....

Well truck made it fine, no smoke, guages all read fine the whole way...

Checked for codes and it has a P0191...

Guess I am in for a trip to the dealer... or will this code clear.. It seems this code (fuel system mismatch) comes up pretty often for no real reason...

No performance mods on this truck... (boxes or programers))

The code is fuel pressure sensor.
Iv had it three times on my 05.
The dealer claims its some kind of glitch in the system.
They checked mine the first time and changed the sensor.
Last time they just cleared the code.
Iv also heard of several instances with 06 s that this has happened to.
Hope this eases your mind.

My 06 threw that same code last week at 11,000. There is a TSB #18-032-06 for that code. They just reflash your pcm with new software. My truck didnt have a box or programmer on it either.

Yep while Was in the office I did a search on it... the little orange engine is really blocked by the steering wheel while I drive so I am not sure if it was on last night after the Jack in the box drive through..

I read one post by carson Dodge that it is common if you turn the truck off, order food and start it before the rail pressure drops to zero.. it is looking for zero pressure and if it doesn't see it it pops a code..

Guess we can rename P0191 the drive thru code

I had it several times. First time they changed the sensor, second time they just cleared the code, now I just clear it with my Smarty. If you get it and cannot start your truck, the RP valve is stuck open and bad. That's when you need a valve. I carry a kit to just plug it off in case the valve sticks when I'm out in the boonies somewhere.
