Difference in 03 and 04.5 turbos?
Is the only difference the exhaust elbow or are the internals different too?
If so, how much?
What size are the wheels and turbine housings?
Will an elbow of an 04.5 work on an 03?
Can the entire turbo be swapped?
Thanks

he 341 (03-04 305/555 motor) 54/58/9cm
he 351 (04.5-07 325/600/610 motor) 60/60/9cm
The he351 has an electronically controlled wastegate so you won't be able to swap them. The he351 will bolt right up to an 03/04 truck with substantial gains.

Which is it, substantial gains or can't swap them?
Do you mean I need to swap the wastegate?

You will have to plug the hole where the electronic wastegate controler is and drill and tap the housing for an adjustable boost elbow. i swear someone on here said that GENOS garage sold a kit that just went into the hole for the electronic part and was threaded for a adjustable elbow. you might have better luck putting this in the HIGH Performance section, maybe get some more answers.

I would set the WG to not exceed 35psi. With stock fueling and the WG off I have seen over 55psi of drive pressure at 33psi of boost. The limit on stock springs is 60psi.. so make the WG operational and set it to be fully open at 35psi. (With the WG on the DP may spike to 45 but settles at 38-40).
I don't even want to know what the drive pressures would be at 40psi. I am guessing over 80... That's way to high.. The stock turbo really needs a WG to be operational.
