Crossover steering

Well I"m finally doing the front end upgrade with dynatrac spin free hubs. Want to up grade the steering to crossover maybe or the 08 HD. Has anyone run crossover steering on the 3rd Gen. Searched the forum and see a lot on 1st and 2nd Gens. Was looking at Ballistic Fab or Thuren. Any help would be great.

Thank you

mine has the 08 upgrade, be aware the tre have to be level with the steering arms when at full lock or your going to have TRE's snap off when you least expect it, there are lots of threads on this

Thank you for the heads up. From what I understand TRE breaking is most likely caused by improper TRE adjustments i.e., end-to-end adjustments???. I can't tell you 1st hand, my buddy's shop is doing the work. I will update for sure. Lots of coin spent to fix C/D mess up.

not an end to end issue, its if the tie rod end is not level with the steering arm when the steering is turned in the full lock posn, there are pic on the net to see what Im saying, and its super easy to check and fix if your aware of it

I did the 08.5 upgrade and ran that for 1 year, then I went with thuren HD steering. I am really happy with it.

Thuren also make a draglink that you can use with the 08.5 upgrade. I think I would go that route if I were to do it again.

here is a pic of my steering.

ME TOO the truck should be fun to drive again. Steering brace and track bar should make for somewhat bullet proof steering set up (I hope)

I did the Thuren track bar a while back as a preventative measure (truck drove fine) but it still made a huge improvement. Steering box brace is next. Should be tough for sure.

WOW finally got time to give a update about the 08 steering upgrade, So much more than Heavy Duty (POS). Man the truck is fun to drive again and better than day 1st off the lot. The free spin is great but no mileage updates yet,(wont take long). Tried the low reverse in 2wd how cool is that for backing up a heavy trailer. Hope to have the steering box brace and track bar by the end of the month. So far very impressed. No pulling side to side tracks straight down the road with no hands for 100's of feet.

This should have been a factory option, and go back to king pins instead of ball joint in the knuckles. JMO
