Crossover steering..

Perusing the ThurenFab site, I see the crossover steering kit.

1) Why would you want crossovr steering?

2) Why is there no steering damper?

3) How do you adjust TOE with the crossover setup?

1) With the stock "Y" link configuration, when the front suspension compresses it causes the wheels to toe out. In my case, it caused the tires to cup bad. It also eliminates the weak TRE's and replaces them with heims. Two schools of thought on running heims on the street....I like them alot better because after 10K miles there is ZERO play in the rod ends. TRE's never lasted this long before they developed play on my truck. I went through TRE's like socks.

2) Don't really need one...I have no bumpsteer and no vibration or shimmy.

3) Loosen the jam nuts and pop the left side off the knuckle. Give it a turn or two and put it back on. My toe has only been adjusted once (when I put it on) and it's still dead on. First time since I've owned the truck that the tires haven't started to cup. 10K on this set and I haven't rotated them yet, they're wearing even all the way around.

Overall, steering feels alot more precise and solid. Since doing the x-over steering and track bar, I haven't had anything that's felt even remotely close to the death wobble....

Didn't some Rams have the crossover setup from the factory???

You said HEIMS!!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE HEIMS!!!!!!

Would this help my BJs last a little longer? I think they are gone at 35K

How would you know whether you would need the straight or bent?

I think Thuren could tell you. Looks like bent gives more clearance on certain trucks.

I have to confess, I love the KORE suspension, but it looks like the Thuren setup could let you run those sweet Fox Shox w/o the $$.

Tie rod is bent to clear the diff cover, drag link it bent to clear the sway bar mounts. One of the trucks pictured on Don's site is mine.

I'm running the King shocks instead of the Fox.....difference for the 2.5 is close to $100/shock. Don can set them up with the same valving......

I can give you some info on coils if you want it, PM me.

The KORE system is good stuff, but it still relies on the stock steering and track bar.
