Coolant Leak

I just discovered a coolant leak on the passenger’s side about at the point where the engine and transmission connect. The coolant is dripping off of what looks like a cross member just aft of the lower suspension A frame. I’m curious as to where it may be coming from.

It is still under full warranty so I’m taking it to the dealer today and let them worry about it. This will be the first time I had to take it to the dealer for warranty work. Of course I only have 14,000 miles on it. I was just wondering what is on the right side of the engine where coolant could be coming from.

Most common leak is a loose hose clamp at the junction of the heater hoses.

I took it to the dealer today and they had it fixed in 10 minutes. When I told the servise writer what the problem was and where it was at, he knew what it was. There is a 3 inch long piece of hose with two claps at the far back right side of the engine. He has seen this on a few other trucks. The service tech got a couple wrenches and tightended them down. He said there were pretty loose.

This is something we all can keep an eye on in the furture. Now to see if the fix, fixes the leak.

See this thread. It's apparently not uncommon. Tightening those clamps cured mine.

Me too. I really couldn't tell where it was coming from until I found that thread.

This place is great.
