coolant color

correct me if i am wrong but, the factory coolant is green, right, just found some new drips and mine is down and brown. fan seems good and tight, no play at pump shaft, any other ideas where leak might be coming from. by the way, oil is good.
thanks,
tim

It might not be coolant, but your ATF from your powersteering hose. I remember reading about people haveing a lot of powersteering hose and pump unit failures. Do a search and you might be suprised what you find. I also think there is a TSB out for such a failure.

However, my coolant is colored orange. I know this because my overflow tank is clear/visiable. If you are the second owner of your truck then someone has change the OEM factory fluid to a aftermarket green tinted coolant.

thanks for the reply, i am original owner and after reading some older post i figured orange is good, but man does it look rusty, i figure time or a drain and flush anyway. it is not steering fluid, i have a small leak somewhere just cannot find it yet.

The factory fill on my '03 was the pink/orange HOAT coolant. The label on the Mopar stuff says "embittered"

Definately not green.
