contaminated fuel ?
I would
1.Get your bill paid from the dealer
2. Put a complaint in at BBB ( for wrong diagnosis to deny warranty claims)
3. Have a post ready for your local newspaper
Too many dealerships all over are acting dishonestly with incapable techs, these people need to get back in track
Good luck

Un fricken believable!
Now I know why I'm laying on my back in the garage putting a new clutch in myself when I could easily afford to have it done for me................because cr@p like this aggravates me to no end and I don't trust anyone to fix it right!
Not a diesel, not fuel related, but typical dealer cr@p:
Co worker takes his company truck Dodge 2500 Hemi to the dealer because the front axle is making a terrible grinding noise. They replace the whole ring and pinion and who knows what else. $2300, truck is well out of warranty, 100k mi on it. When he gets the truck back I peeked under it thinking for that much money it would have a brand new front axle, lug nut to lug nut.
Nope just rebuilt.
See some gear oil leaking out of the L side axle seal and a little around the pinion seal.
I took it back in as I was headed that way the next day. Tell the service turd what's wrong. He sends a tech out to look at it. COmes back in and tells me the transfer case is leaking and that's what I'm seeing, not the front axle.........and of course "We didn't do any work to the xfer case."
I asked him if he knew the difference between ATF and gear oil. He said yes. Asked him why he was lying to me then. He got a little offended that I called him a liar. I Asked him to step outside........................he didn't know what to say, looked at the service manager. Then I finished my sentence....."So I can show you the difference between an axle and a xfer case!"
They ended up fixing the truck, of course, and gave me a Dodge baseball hat!

The same thing happened to me except my truck never ran bad. The engine light came on so I took it to the dealer. You need all six injectors & other stuff . No warranty because bad fuel. The company that I buy fuel from has sent off a sample from my tank & truck. They want to know what specs. dodge requires for warranty.
