Contaminated Fuel

Truck had no power an ran very rough. It has 82k miles. Took it to a dealer. Dodge drained about 25 gallons of fuel and found it was contaminated. They cleaned out the tank. They then gave me 2 options. Spend big bucks and replace everything in the fuel system from the injectors back or try to run it out. They also put in NEW fuel filter snd 15 gallons of fresh fuel

I have now run it some 250 miles and have added 20 gallons of fuel and 21 ounces of Power Serve in the gray container. It still idles rough. When I step on the pedal sometimes it takes off normally and other times it hesitates. At speed it runs OK. Uphill on the interstate iit has trouble holding 60. On level areas I've gone to 75 without a problem. It runs a heck of a lot better now but is not up to par. The day all hell broke loose it bucked an pinged. I had it towed to Dodge, didn;t think it would get there on its own.

Any suggestions on solving the problem would be appreciated

well i had the same problem you have, but the dealer told me i had to replace all injectors, transfer pump, inj tubes and lines. it all rounded to 4800 dollars including labor .and that it would not cover the warranty. So i guess your dealer is not going to cover it either. good luck with the dealer

May be fuel control actuator (05183245AA). Engine surges at idle If fuel
pressure variation is excessive, an audible surge will be present. If the variation is severe, a slight engine speed variation may also be noticed. Remove FCA and check for any rust.
1 - ACTUATOR MOUNTING BOLTS
2 - FCA (FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR)
3 - ACTUATOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
